Returns

Our policy lasts 30 days. Unfortunately, if 30 days have elapsed since your purchase we can no longer offer you a refund or exchange.

In order for your return to be eligible, your item must be returned unused, in the original packaging and in the same conditions that you received it.

 

Refunds

On receipt of the returned item, it will be inspected and we will notify you by email as to whether the refund is approved. If approved, your refund (minus P&P charges) will be processed and you will be credited via your original payment method, which may take a few days.

 

Cancellations

Orders can only be cancelled before shipment. To inform us of your wish to cancel your order please email contact@scalable-design.co.uk. Cancellations received after your product is shipped can be returned as per our returns & refunds policies.

This product is dispatched to you by Scalable Designs Ltd.

We aim to dispatch your order on the same day as the order is received. You should then receive your tree within 48 hours. If your order is placed late in the day, it may take a little longer to reach you.

As a sustainable business we are not keen to ship long distance but at this point on our journey and with patents granted in the US, Canada, France, Germany, China and Hong Kong we are keen to seed the market and find potential partners in those regions.

Additional postage is applicable for the US and the UAE. For other regions please get in touch and we will do our best to accommodate your request but an extra charge will need to be applied.

 

All wooden tree components are made using European Oak from a supplier that ensures their timber is certified by PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) or FSC (Forest Stewardship Council).

 

Stainless steel dowel pins are used to connect components. These pins will not corrode and make up less than 2% of the weight of the product.

 

The product is supplied in a study box, which can also be used for storage. It is deliberately designed with minimum height (10cm), to allow the storage box to be discretely placed in a cupboard or under a bed or sofa.

 

Our trees are supplied untreated which makes them suitable for indoor use. Wipe clean with a dry cloth. If you wish to position your tree outside, it is recommended that you treat the components with a suitable wood preservative, such as, Danish Oil (Clear/Natural). As such, if a tree is position outside or in other damp/wet conditions, without suitable wood preservative treatment, Scalable Designs Ltd will not be bound to replacing components that have discoloured or changed shape.

 

The oak timber used will show the natural patterns expected in heart wood and sap wood, knots will also be present in the timber, some will be small, but other may be open knots i.e. knots may pass through a complete piece of wood.

Our intention is to create an environmentally friendly alternative to both artificial trees, by way of the materials used in construction, and real trees, as it will not need replacing every year.

We won’t enter the perennial debate as to whether an artificial tree or a real tree is better for the environment but ask you to look at our tree as an alternative to the downsides created by use of plastic or composting gases. The Scalable Christmas Tree is 98% (by weight) sustainably sourced Oak timber. Our trees are delivered in Kraft corrugated board boxes that can be used for storing the tree post-Christmas. Packing materials used within the box are made from Kraft paper created using recycled material.
